I had always been active and athletic, but in my mid-thirties I hit a point where I was in the worst shape of my life! There’s a picture my husband took of me in the summer of 2019 on a hike up Mt. Cardigan. It was a wake-up call – I did not like what I saw or how I felt. I needed a change. I was not disciplined or educated enough to do it on my own. I needed a guide.
Since joining Individual Fitness, I feel 1000% better. I am leaner and stronger. I have energy to do the activities I want to do. I sleep better at night. I have less stress and anxiety. I have endurance for harder activities like hiking and skiing. I went from being able to do zero push ups to 14! Best of all, I have created better habits which have led to a healthier lifestyle all around.
I like the variety of the workouts and the personalized approach. The trainers aren’t trying to make you into a cookie cutter image. They listen to your goals and help you get there. They also aren’t trying to give you a quick fix. The plan is a commitment to yourself to make changes in your daily habits. During the COVID-19 pandemic, my trainer adapted all of my workouts to be done at home. I turned my tiny apartment into a gym with just a few pieces of equipment. That small bit of kindness and consistency was a life-saver during a very hard time. Where I saw friends and family backslide on fitness during the pandemic, I was able to keep on track with my goals.
Joining Individual Fitness was a strategic investment in myself. My family history includes heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure. I have seen fad diets or workouts promise quick results with little effort. I have been disappointed and even injured from trying to make it up on my own. It wasn’t until I joined Individual Fitness and saw results that I realized caring for myself is work, AND I can do it. It is worth it! Aren’t you worth it? I think so!
