Blog & Resources
If you’re like many people who resolved to get healthy in 2020, you may already feel your motivation starting to wane. The problem with resolutions is that they’re typically vague and don’t come with a clear vision and path forward to reach the goals set. That’s where a vision board comes in.
What Is a Vision Board?
A vision board is a physical representation of what you want to achieve. It’s a tool used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on a specific life goal (like losing weight, for example). A vision board is, quite literally, any sort of board on which you display images that represent what you want to do, who you want to be or what you want to have in life.
Going through the process of creating a vision board – finding images and words from magazines and other materials that represent your goal – can have a profound impact on your ability to achieve the goals you set.
Why Vision Boards Work
There’s a reason our tagline is “Your Vision + Our Strategy = Results.” Everything starts with your vision. Your motivation to get to the gym, make a healthy meal, prep food in advance and stay active in between sessions all goes back to the vision you have for your life and your health.
If that vision isn’t very clear, then you’ll struggle to stay motivated. Creating a vision board can help you really focus in and get specific about what you want your life or your health to look and feel like once you’ve reached your goal.
By creating a vision board, you will be able to better:
-
Identify and clarify your goals
-
Reinforce your daily practices
-
Keep your attention on your intentions
No one’s motivation lasts forever. Some days it’s harder than others to get to the gym or make healthy food choices. A vision board gives you a physical representation of that life you want so badly, which can help push you forward on those days when your motivation is lagging.
