Boost your energy and strength by resetting your mindset
Weight loss is one of the most daunting challenges that people face. Problems with weight loss tend to increase as we age, thanks largely to slowed metabolism, lack of exercise, and our lifestyle in general. Losing weight after 40 can be difficult but it’s not impossible if you’re willing to put in the time and effort.
We often take for granted that we can keep on going, and keep on living. However, if we don’t take care of ourselves, we may find that our once strong and energetic self has turned into a person who is drained and tired. It’s important to think about ways to reset your mindset and not only renew your energy levels but also reset your expectations to meet the demands of modern life!
Fear, uncertainty, and doubt…
Uncertainty, doubt, and fear can derail our health or fitness efforts unfortunately leading to all sorts of problems such as weight gain affecting your mindset negatively that seeps into other areas of your life as well as lacking energy. This mindset can be changed by thinking positive and motivating yourself to be healthy and fit. Start doing this by setting small achievable goals with rewards such as getting a massage after losing five pounds or giving yourself a day off when you successfully followed your workout plan for two weeks in a row.
One of the hardest hurdles to contend with when it comes to weight loss is overcoming fear. It’s hard not to be afraid that you’re going to go overboard or can’t maintain your progress without falling off the wagon. However, you have to remind yourself that it takes time and gradual changes for new habits to form. Make small changes that are sustainable and don’t give up so easily on your goals!
Fear leads to uncertainty which leads to doubt — all of which can derail our health or fitness efforts unfortunately leading to all sorts of problems such as weight gain affecting your mindset negatively that seeps into other areas of your life as well as lacking energy. This is why your mindset is so important.
Doubt is a common mindset issue with people who are trying to achieve weight loss. Doubt comes from societal issues, such as not feeling comfortable in your own skin. It’s important to know that everyone goes through it and it’s normal.
Acknowledge the thoughts and feelings and then change your mindset to more productive and positive thoughts. This may seem difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it you will start to notice an improvement.
Making a mistake does not make you a failure, it takes more perseverance to get back on track rather than giving up altogether. Keep going and never give up! Overcome the mindset of doubt by learning from your mistakes and reframing them as valuable lessons along the way.
Progress not Perfection!
It’s normal to feel fear, uncertainty and doubt along the way. It’s human nature. What matters is to recognize it, reframe it, and hit reset. Focus on what you have accomplished, not where you have fallen short. Ask yourself “what can I do right now? What is my next step to move forward over chaos?” Remember that progress is always better than perfection.
You don’t have to do it alone
What is your health worth to you? How would it feel to have the energy and strength to do the things you want to do?
It’s critical that we maintain a healthy mindset and focus on progress not perfection in order to stay motivated. You can do this by having faith in yourself and maintaining a healthy mindset every day!
Stack the odds in your favor with a coach who will not only work with you to create a personalized workout plan, track your progress, and motivate you to meet your goals, but also act as an accountability partner.
